Massive blast in the Lebanese capital, Beirut. The BBC reports that there was a huge explosion in the warehouse in the port of Beirut. Several people were injured and several vehicles were damaged. The cause of the blast is not yet known. The bomber struck shortly after noon in front of a convoy of former prime minister Rafiq Hariri.

The bomber struck shortly after 6pm local time. The official news agency NNA reported that there were several warehouses near the port of Beirut where explosives were stored and that the explosion took place there. Local media reported that several people were injured.

Reuters reports that Beirut is now covered in black smoke. People are running on the road with bleeding. According to international media reports, large buildings and cars plying on the road were destroyed.
