Raphael, one of the most powerful fighter jets in the world, landed in Ambala, Haryana today. Five planes departing from France arrived at the Abu Dhabi airbase on Monday. From there the journey to India turns. The planes fly for about 7000 km and land at Ambala in Haryana.
The aircraft was received by Indian Air Force Chief Air Marshal RKS Baduria. Security had been beefed up near Ambala Air Base in case of warplanes arriving. The aircraft is being flown to India by the most powerful pilots of the Air Force.
It is learned that a Malayalee pilot is also among them. This was reported by Manorama Online.
Before Raphael left for India, the Indian Ambassador to France said that the world has the best pilots to fly the best warplanes in the world. The Air Force had posted pictures of the pilots of the warplanes arriving in India on its official Twitter page.

The Raphael Agreement was signed between India and France in 2016. As per the agreement, 36 twin-engine fighter jets will arrive in India. The contract is worth Rs 59,000 crore. Of these, 10 Rafale aircraft have already been delivered to India. Of these, 5 are still in training in France. All Raphael aircraft will be delivered to India by 2021.
